For more than 20 years I’ve served my country with honor, dignity and pride as a soldier in the United States Army and as an adviser on military and veterans issues. Now I’m running for State Representative of the 41st District to serve my community with those very same principals.
Not since Illinois became a state in 1818 have we approached a political crossroads of this magnitude. Voters of the 41st District have a clear choice on February 2nd – to continue with the same entrenched political mentality that has stagnated Springfield or they can take a bold stand and say “enough is enough” and elect a State Representative they can be proud of, one with fresh, new, and proven ideas and values.
I’m running for State Representative because I want this opportunity to make our community a better place to live, to work, and to achieve the American dream. My motivation for seeking the office of State Representative is my wife, my children, my neighbors and the thousands of people I’ve already met walking the district that want to believe in a government that is “by the people and for the people.”
Too many people in the district are struggling to pay their mortgage, find a job, care for their kids, or afford their medical bills. We must do more for everyone in our community.
As a proven business leader who worked as a manager at a Fortune 100 company, I understand the realities of operating a business in this fragile economy. That’s why I will work day and night to pass legislation and create incentives that will keep good paying jobs in Illinois and bring other jobs to our state to rebuild our economy.
As a taxpayer who has seen income, sales and property taxes skyrocket, I will work to keep our money in our pockets and stop government from fleecing us by raising taxes or imposing new fees on people and businesses.
Working with my wife to ensure we live within our means, I will lead by example and work to ensure our government balances its budget and lives within its means. We must cut government waste and put an end to overspending.
As the father of two school-age children and husband to a teacher, I will work to improve the quality of education for all students and hold teachers and administrators more accountable.
Soon, one of the biggest choices a state legislator will have to make is in regards to healthcare reform. I will work to bring real reform to our healthcare system that benefits both patients and doctors and does not financially strap future generations.
And as State Representative of the 41st District, I will work tirelessly to restore honor, integrity, trust, hope and professionalism back to our State Government.
That’s why I ask for your vote.
